At Capital Junk, we believe in the importance of giving back to our community. We not only feel that it’s our duty, but we’re also proud to be able to participate in charitable events and fundraisers that help support our neighbourhoods. Free E-Waste Drop Off Day

The amount of electronic waste going into landfills these days is staggering. Landfills are not only running out of space, but they’re also snowballing in size — a major concern for both city officials and residents. In addition, electronic waste that you throw into the garbage isn’t biodegradable which means it takes years to break down. That’s why the city of Ottawa has stopped accepting electronic waste as part of their trash pickup service.

At Capital Junk, we host a number of “Free E-Waste Drop Off” events throughout the year to help reduce the waste that’s going into landfills. We take all dropped-off items and relocate them to dedicated e-waste facilities so they can be appropriately disposed of or reused. So if you have an old clunky computer monitor that’s been collecting dust, a keyboard without the keys, or that old broken phone you’ve kept for far too long, come visit us and support our Free E-Waste Drop Off.

Ottawa Food Bank E-Waste Pickup

We also organize an annual E-waste pickup day. So if you have a large TV or stereo, or just can’t make it down to our location for our drop off day, we’ll come to you. All we ask is for $20 donation to the Ottawa Food Bank. We’ll even match your donation to help support over 140 emergency food programs in our community. Each year, the Ottawa Food Bank feeds over 45,000 people per month, with nearly half of those being children in our local areas. If you’d like to get involved, don’t forget to mark your calendars for our next event.

Community Events

We don’t just host our own charitable events; we also participate in a number of fun and exciting community events that allow us to give back. Our team has been involved in the Cleaning Capital to help pick up garbage and other debris throughout the city, supporting local baseball teams through sponsorships, contributing to the River Keeper Ottawa grassroots charity, and even adopting a section of Carling Avenue to keep it free of garbage for nearby residents and tourists.

Why do we foster charitable work in the community? We love showing our gratitude to our clients for choosing us as their junk removal service. It makes us feel proud to give back and help make our community a better place.
